The Team Gloucester women did what they came to do on Wednesday, narrowly edging out Greater Boston Track Club's "The Other Women" for the win.

Layce Alves kicked things off with a strong leadoff leg, running 16:34 over the 2.5 mile course, just 19 seconds behind GBTC's Julie McGee. Danielle Baker kept Team Gloucester in the race with a 16:56 split against GBTC's strongest runner, Laura Hayden. Kathy Burley ran a solid third leg with a 17:31 split, and Jenn Brooks Lassen closed the gap with a 15:49 split again GBTC's Christy Bonstello (18:04) for the win. The women's team finished 20th overall in 1:06:50, just 15 seconds and one spot ahead of The Other Women.

On the men's side, Bob Gillis took it out in 15:58, handing off to Rick Ciolino in 19th place. Ciolino responded with a 15:53 leg, moving Team Gloucester up to 14th. Dave Geary ran third in a 16:44, and Wes Lassen anchored with a 15:11. The men's team finished in 103:46, placing 9th in a very competitive men's division and 14th overall.

The race was well organized, the weather perfect, and dinner afterwards awesome. We hope to bring even more teams next year.
