Defying wind and flood advisories, Team Gloucester travelled to the Savoy Mountain Trail Races and perfomed admirably, with every runner running improving on their course best.

Wes Lassen was third overall in the men's 4.5 mile race, finishing in a time of 29:06, two and a half minutes faster than his 2003 time. Kent Lemme of Wiliamstown, MA was the men's winner in 25:52; Shaun Sutliff of Adams was second in 28:56.

In the 20 mile race, Brian Hamill (Team Gloucester by association) was fifth, coasting to a 3:05:33 finish, a seven minute improvement over is 2003 run. Not bad for a training run...

Jenn Brooks Lassen was next up, winning the women's race and finishing 9th overall in 3:11:35, crushing her prior best of 3:27:39. Ciolino was next after Brooks, finishing 13th in a time of 3:20:26, more than seven minutes ahead of his 2003 time.

The twenty mile race was won by Bob Dion of Readsboro, VT, in a time of 2:53:13.

The dire weather predictions seemed to keep a lot of runners away; however, the course was in pretty good shape considering the summer we've had, the weather was ideal, and the food this year was fantastic (Bob has been vindicated).
