The pressure was on in Lowell on Sunday. Despite Ciolino's standard pre-race semantics, all knew a minimum two weeks bragging rights was at stake, and in Team Gloucester, that is not something to be taken lightly.
All three had a quick first mile, with Wes Lassen opening up in 5:45, Charlestown's Rick Ciolino coming through 5:50, and Jenn Lassen in 5:55. Wes went on to run a strong race and a post-college best, holding a 5:53 pace to finish 14th in 18:14.
Ciolino ran a very strong second mile to pull away from Jenn. He faded over the final half mile, but held things together well enough for an 18:55, good enough for 20th overall. Jenn was the final Team Gloucester finisher in 19:22, 27th overall and 2nd woman.
