| Michael McCrane is the top Cape Ann finisher, coming in 15th in 54:48. Steve Davis ran a great race in 1:08:00, and the indefatiguable Bob Gillis, unfazed by his 3:15 effort on Sunday, finished close behind in 1:08:44. According to the official results Dave Geary edged out Rick Ciolino by a second in the 221st Geary-Ciolino showdown. "I'm not sure what sort of skullduggeric ruse Mr. Geary pulled off, but it's clearly a cry for help," said Ciolino. Ciolino later realised the ruse may have been as simple as left vs. right. Because Ciolino wore the chip on his left leg, but crossed the finish line with his right, it is theoretically possibly that Dave crossed with the chip-decorated leg leading, resulting in the one second victory. Jeff Ruthchick did, in fact, show up, but only to be routed by Pixie Harrington, 1:36:46 to 1:39:18. Sorry Jeff. Layce Alves ran yet another strong race. Anyone know if she likes to run trails?
