The Seventh Annual Ravenswood Trail Race, Sunday, October 18, 2009
The 2009 Ravenswood Trail Race will likely be remembered for lots of rain and lots of wind. But hey, it could have been an ice storm!
Congratulations to overall winners Mark Mayall, finishing in 29:49, and Kristin Hall, finishing in 33:46. Not bad for a tough day! Lots of mud but no blood seen this year? Is it possible that nobody fell? This course must be getting too easy...
This year's race featured 133 registrants and 98 finishers, as well as a record number of volunteers and post-race treats, such as Denise Vadala's chocolate fudge cupcakes with the little twirly icing on top, or Dave Geary's double chocolate peanut-butter marshmellow squares. Oh wait...you guys come to run, and not for the food?
Lots of thanks go to our many sponsors and volunteers; this race wouldn't happen without them! Thanks to all the runners who were undeterred by the weather and made this year's race a success.
